Kitchener fire crews remain on scene of an early morning house fire.
Crews were called to a two-storey semi unit at 150 Overlea Drive, in the Highland and Fischer-Hallman Road area just before 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Kitchener Fire's Assistant Platoon Chief Patrick O'Halloran said 40 firefighters and 10 fire trucks responded.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke and heavy fire coming from the roof, and the roof collapsed as crews tried to put the blaze out from inside.
It forced crews to extinguish the fire from above.
Three people have been displaced but were not hurt.
The cause remains under investigation.
A damage estimate is said to be well over $100,000, but O'Halloran said it's difficult to put an exact figure on it right now.
