Kyle Wood is moving further west.

The Waterloo native has been traded to the NHL's San Jose Sharks.

Wood spent the last two seasons with the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners (farm team of the Arizona Coyotes).

In that time, Wood put up 62 points in 117 games.

"Kyle possesses a rare combination of size and skill on the blueline and we're excited to add him to our organization," said Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson. "He was an AHL All-Star in his first professional season and we think his game will continue to evolve."

Forward Adam Helewka heads to Arizona.
