Kitchener's Loren Gabel will continue her hockey career in the Premier Hockey Federation.

It was announced Monday that the 25-year-old had signed a two-year contract with the Boston Pride. Terms of the deal were not released.

“I'm excited to join this championship caliber team and coaching staff in Boston. I have the utmost faith in this organization for all of their work in growing women's professional hockey and elevating players to perform at the highest level,” Gabel said in a news release. “I look forward to pouring everything I have into this city and competing alongside my teammates for the amazing Pride fans.”

Gabel won a pair of NCAA Division I National Championships with Clarkson University in New York. She is the program's all-time leading scorer with 213 career points. In 2019, she was named the top player in NCAA women's hockey and was presented with the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.

For the past three seasons, Gabel has been a member of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association, joining the Toronto training region the past two seasons. She also won a bronze medal with Team Canada at the 2019 IIHF Women’s World Championship.

The Boston Pride open their season on November 5.
