Kitchener Rangers hosting online jersey auction instead of Fan Fest

By Ariel Deutschmann

Soon, residents will have the chance to own a piece of their favourite, local OHL team.

The Kitchener Rangers and Rangers Reach are teaming up to host an online jersey auction.

Starting at noon on Tuesday, September 8, fans can bid for game-worn Rangers alternate jerseys. On that day, a link to the auction can be found on the team's website. The auction is scheduled to end on Saturday, September 19 at noon.

All proceeds from the auction will go directly to Make-A-Wish Canada, formally known as Children's Wish Foundation, an organization creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

For the past 22 years, the Kitchener Rangers have raised over $200,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada by hosting Fan Fest and Barbecue.

With current health guidelines, the Rangers organization says they have decided to not go forward with Fan Fest this year.

The organization adds they are excited to hold the auction, and thank Rangers Nation for their continued support for Make-A-Wish Canada.
