Police lay record number of charges during Laurier Homecoming

By Christine Clark

A record number of charges laid during Wilfrid Laurier Homecoming this year.

Waterloo Regional Police say 462 charges were laid with 14,000 revelers on Ezra Avenue.

Last year, police say there were around 9,000 people on the busy party street.

Regional Police add the cost of keeping an eye on the party this year is comparable to St Patrick's Day last year.

The final financial figures are expected to be released later this month.
