What is open and closed on Canada Day

By Christine Clark

Wednesday is Canada Day and that means there are some closures around the Region.

All regional and most municipal administrative offices are closed Wednesday, as well as most regional and municipal services which will pick back up Thursday.

Libraries, museums and our major local malls are also closed.

Grand River Transit buses are operating on a Sunday schedule.

What won’t change is garbage collection, if Wednesday is your regular pick up day, you can put out your items as usual.

The waste drop-off sites though in Cambridge and Waterloo are shut down for the day.

Parks, trails, sports fields, basketball courts, and some splash pads are open, but we are reminded to keep physical distancing measures in mind.
