Victoria Park clock tower vandalized twice in just over two weeks

The clock tower in Victoria Park has been vandalized twice in just over two weeks.

Officials with the City of Kitchener said graffiti was first discovered on the historic landmark on Valentine's Day.

It happened again Wednesday morning, but this time, it was much more extensive.

Crews planned to paint over the graffiti Thursday and a more extensive cleaning is expected to happen next week.

There's no current estimate for how much the clean-up efforts have, and will cost; a city spokesperson said they spent $115,000 on cleaning up graffiti on city property in 2020.
