Several Kitchener SUVs were vandalised last night

By Isabel Buckmaster

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating several reports of deflated vehicle tires last night.

Over 10 SUVs were vandalized in the incident Friday evening or early Saturday morning.

Notes were left on the windshields saying the deflated tires were “the consequences of driving large vehicles.”

The targeted areas included Westforest Trail, Stoke Drive, Trelawney Street, Carrington Place, Bushwood Court, and Strathmere Court.

Police are also investigating over 30 other tire vandalism incidents from July 17, 2022.

The “Tyre Extinguishers,” a self-described “direct action environmentalist group” has claimed responsibility for the previous reports.

Local residents are asked to check their security or doorbell cameras for any suspicious activity.

Video footage can be submitted to the police via bit.ly/3J4NdYt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
