Roundabout proposed for Fischer-Hallman and New Dundee Road

The Region of Waterloo is considering a new roundabout at Fischer-Hallman Road (Regional Road 58) and New Dundee Road (Regional Road 12) in Kitchener/Township of North Dumfries to enhance service and safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

At this time, the Region is asking residents to complete a survey by April 8, 2022, at engagewr.ca to share their comments on the proposed roundabout.   

A proposed roundabout at this intersection is predicted to improve traffic flow and safety when compared to the existing traffic signals based on the technical studies completed to date. The proposed roundabout design takes into consideration all users including cyclists, pedestrians and motorists which include heavy trucks and farm vehicles.

The results of the technical studies and public feedback will help staff determine a recommendation to Council later this fall. If approved, construction is planned for 2024.
