While many of us will remember this winter for some wacky weather, the temperatures were nothing out of the ordinary according to the University of Waterloo.
The university released it's February weather summary for the Region. While there was quite a swing in temperatures, the month was nothing out of the ordinary.
The warmest temperature recorded was 10.9 degrees celsius, while the lowest was -26.7.
With a number of severe weather systems going through the Region, precipitation was up compared to normal. There was 11 centimetres more snow than average.
According to Environment Canada Meteorologist David Rogers, we can expect winter to stick around as we head into March.
“So for the next week it looks like its going to be fairly cold in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. We're expecting temperatures 8 to 10 degrees below normal for the beginning part of the week.”
