The region announced today they will be adding 1,400 appointments for residents to get the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Through a partnership with the Ontario government and the Canadian Red Cross, they are launching a pop-up clinic at 99 Regina St. South in Waterloo.
The clinics will be available by appointment only, and will run from Jan. 2 to Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Similar to the pop-up clinic they held over the summer, it will be staffed by members of the Red Cross.
“These additional appointments would not have been possible without support from the Province, as well as the Canadian Red Cross,” said Regional Chair Karen Redman. “I would like to thank all of our partners for creating this additional capacity in the Region of Waterloo.”
“The Canadian Red Cross is pleased to support the Region of Waterloo and provide additional vaccination appointments in the community,” said Tanya Elliott, vice-president, Ontario at the Canadian Red Cross. “The Red Cross continues to build its capacity to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine across Ontario.”
Currently, over 120,000 residents have already received their third dose.
