Toys R Us Canada and the Starlight Children's Foundation are making one child's dreams come true with a free toy shopping spree.
On July 10th, nine-year-old Natalia and her family will get the chance to fill shopping carts with as many toys as possible within three minutes.
The family will be going into the Kitchener Toys R Us on Fairway Road South at 7:30 a.m., before the doors open to the public.
Natalia, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy and intestinal pseudo-obstruction, is one of many kids a part of the Starlight Children's program who participated in a draw for the shopping spree.
Brian Bringolf, Starlight Children's Foundation of Canada Executive Director, has been involved with these events for over twenty years.
He says that seeing the direct impact of their work on kids and their families puts life in perspective.
“It really makes you realize that when you have your health, you do have the greatest gift of all.” says Bringolf.
“Once you see a girl like Natalia or any of the other tens of thousands of children we help every month across the country, you should go home and you should hug your children, your grand children, your nieces and nephews a little longer and a little tighter.” says Bringolf.
“Understanding that you have your health and that your kids have their health, it puts all the other stresses into perspective.”
Toys R Us Canada has also committed to help sponsor other Starlight projects, including 85 hospital grants, 10-thousand baby and toddler fun kits, and baby resources for Hospital Programs.
