Kitchener Centre MPP Laura Mae Lindo is looking to discuss a private member's bill calling for two-way, all-day GO service at Queen's Park.

Lindo held a roundtable discussion Tuesday morning at Smile Tiger Coffee Roasters, which is located right next to the Kitchener train station, to discuss the need for the service to transit advocates and constituents.

Lindo then will demonstrate how long it normally takes to get to Queen's Park via a GO bus, by leaving from Kitchener to Toronto.

According to Lindo, it takes two hours and 24 minutes to arrive at Queen's Park.

She tells the Mike Farwell Show on 570 NEWS it seems like the provincial government is putting two-way, all-day GO on hold, calling it a future surprise party.

"So my motion is literally just asking them what the plan is. Give us a real timeline. Tell us how much resources they've allocated for that, since we're in this beautiful period where the budget is going to come out any day now."

Lindo said she has tried every single mode of transportation to get to Queen's Park.

"Including carpooling, Greyhound and I've tried the GO train. If I take the GO train, I'd have to arrive the day before, in order to be able to get to the meeting or for things I have to do, especially when something starts at 7:30 a.m. for instance."
