Kitchener company builds brightest flashlight

By Mark Pare

Hacksmith Industries is at it again.

The makers of the first functioning lightsaber have built a massive flashlight that has shattered the world record for brightness.

The Nitebrite 300 shines at 501,031 lumens, and is now the Guinness World Record holder.  The previous record was the IMALENT MS18, which output 100,000 lumens.

The Nitebrite uses 300 LED lights, hence the name, and made a Crookes Radiometer explode.

In Hacksmith's near 18 minute video posted on YouTube, they can be seen shining the light on a football field, and also strapped the flashlight to the top of a vehicle and drove down an industrial roadway in the dead of night.
