A Kitchener woman has been handed a four-year prison sentence in connection to the death of her daughter.
28-year-old Nicole Eidt pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death in the fatal overdose of her 20-month-old daughter.
CTV News reporting the sentencing took place Wednesday, with court hearing Eidt left a mixture of carfentanil and fentanyl in the zippered pocket of her sweater.
Her daughter was able to access and ingest the drugs while Eidt was asleep. She later died in hospital.
The fatal overdose took place in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener back in February.
