Tickets are now on sale for the 7th Annual Highland Ball on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 in celebration and support of our local troops. This will be the first year the event is being held at Hangar 51 at the Region of Waterloo International Airport.
Hosted by the Regimental Council and Officers of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada (RHFC), the elegant evening provides a “regimental flair” to a distinguished, black-tie affair. Annually attended by 200+ guests, the Highland Ball provides excellent networking, mouth-watering food, a top-notch silent auction and fantastic entertainment. Along with all the glitz and glamour, guests also get to experience a traditional military-style dinner complete with a toast to the Haggis. Attendees will have the chance to explore the donated hangar and take photos with vintage aircraft and military vehicles. The Ceremonial Band of the Waterloo Regional Police Service, Regimental Pipe Band along with the Robin Reid Project will also entertain guests.
“Because of the generosity of so many people and businesses in our community, since 2013 this important event has raised close to $175,000 for the local soldiers of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada,” shares Bernie Melloul, Honorary Colonel of the RHFC. “There is much to celebrate and it’s always a pleasure to welcome old friends as well as introduce new ones to the Regiment and the Canadian Armed Forces – it’s about connecting us more with the community.”
Also attending the event will be dignitaries: Canadian Senator Marty Deacon, Regional Chair Karen Redman and Cambridge Mayor Kathryn McGarry.
