Comic Con takes over the Region

By Dana Roberts

Comic book fans were rejoicing as Comic Con took over the region Saturday.

The annual event took over Kitchener City Hall. The goal is to bring a world wide tradition to the Region.

Attendees can expect to see the very best of Canadian pop culture entertainment. Kitchener Comic Con has been running since 2015.

The event is meant to be fun for the whole family.

The year was 2014 as a group of artistic individuals set out to make the best comic book convention in the city of Kitchener, Ontario Canada, and bring the very best of Canadian pop culture entertainment to the foreground.

The event hopes to bring the cosplay community together. KW-Marvelous Girls formed as an official group at the first Kitchener Comic Con. Member Arianna tells 570 NEWS it's always a great time.

“Its a great experience to come out, see everyone and make some new friends and basically geek out. Alot of the things here are super interesting and it's not as overwhelming as FanExpo can be.”

Admission to the event is free. It runs today until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
