The annual CHYM Tree of Hope Radiothon will be moving to a new location for this year.
The event will be taking place at The Family Centre in Kitchener.
Manager of the Family and Children's Services Foundation, Dr. Jill Stoddart, says the main reason for moving the location is to give the community a better opportunity to see the impact of their donations.
“It's for programs that we run, the partners that we work with. It's a wonderful opportunity to highlight that for our community. This is our major fundraising event of the year. Our goal for the event is to raise over $300,000. All of that money stays here in the Waterloo Region.”
She says she is looking forward to showing community members what takes place at the Family and Children's Services Foundation.
“The thing that I most look forward to is to talk to our community, to talk about the work that we do, to be able to share stories of the success of the work that we do and the impact that we have on children and families in the Waterloo Region.”
She says the money goes to supporting the prevention focus program that they do at the Family and Children's Services Foundation.
The CHYM Tree of Hope Radiothon takes place Thursday, December 5.
