Youth between 12 and 17 can receive third dose of COVID vaccine as of Friday

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Youth between 12 and 17 years of age, who have already received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, will be eligible for their third dose as of Friday, February 18.

It will work out to 168 days (about six months) after their second dose.

With the province easing more restrictions as of Thursday, the region says this age group will now be able to benefit from the additional protection of a third dose.

The lead of the local vaccine rollout added there's lots of capacity at vaccination clinics to administer third doses to youth.

They will also be able to walk in to any of the regional vaccination clinics to receive their third dose.

More information on vaccines can be found on the region's website.
