In the face of the Omicron variant, we continue to administer third doses as quickly as possible. This wouldn’t be possible without the help of hundreds of volunteers who take on many important roles at the regional vaccination clinics.

Many staff and volunteers from Region of Waterloo Public Health, Grand River Hospital and Grand River Hospital Association, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, and St. Mary’s General Hospital will be giving up their personal family time this holiday season so others can get a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We are thankful for the tremendous partnership that continues to make it possible for us to administer vaccines to the residents of our community,” said Vickie Murray, Lead for the vaccine rollout in Waterloo Region. “We have had overwhelming support from our volunteers who are incredibly committed to our vaccination clinics. These local heroes are giving up time with their own families to help us get through another challenging phase of the pandemic. We all owe them our gratitude.”

The dedicated volunteers who have spent many hours volunteering at Waterloo Region’s local hospitals will be supporting the vaccination clinics throughout the holiday season. Staff and volunteers are working collaboratively so everyone who attends a clinic to get their COVID-19 vaccine has a positive experience.
