Man hurt in hit and run in Kitchener

Police have now identified an additional piece of a vehicle believed to have been involved in hit an run that occured earlier this week near the Sunrise Centre in Kitchener.
A section of the left front fender between the wheel well and the signal light has been recovered. As a result the suspect vehicle’s signal light may be damaged or missing.
The collision occured on Thursday morning when a Kitchener man was crossing Ottawa St south near International Place when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
The driver then left the area.
The victim was able to get home and call 9-1-1, but was later taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone spotting a smaller gray vehicle with damage to the left front bumper and lower fender is asked to contact police at 519 650 8500 ext. 4499.
