High School drop out rate decreases

There’s been a 50% decrease in Canada’s drop out rate.

That’s the good news out of a report from the C.D. Howe Institute.

The bad news is Canadian boys are almost twice as likely to quit school as girls.

Students in rural areas of Jamaican, Portuguese and Haitian descent are also more likely to leave school without a diploma.

the Toronto Star reports Ontario’s drop out rate is now 7.8%, that’s half what it was 20 years ago.
