Kitchener man charged with vehicle theft and trespassing

A Kitchener man is facing several charges following a vehicle theft and trespassing incident in Woolwich Township.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of an unwanted male in a parking lot in the area of Fountain Street North and Airport Road on Friday shortly before 11 a.m.
Police say the responding officers located a male in a stolen vehicle and placed him under arrest. Through investigation, officers found the vehicle had been taken Thursday evening from a dealership on King Street North in Waterloo during a fraudulent test-drive.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old man from Kitchener is facing the following charges:
- Theft of motor vehicle;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- Mischief – interfere with lawful use of property; and
- Enter when entry is prohibited
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
