Waterloo regional police are asking homeowners in a Kitchener neighbourhood to check security cameras for any suspicious activity after a residential break-in.
Police were called Sept. 10 about a break-and-enter in the Brembel Street area, near Ottawa Street and Lackner Boulevard.
An unknown number of suspects damaged a back door to gain entry to a home and then stole property.
Investigators want people living in that area to comb home security footage from Sept. 10 between 11 a.m and 3:30 p.m.
Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext. 8255.
Police also released the following crime prevention tips for residents:
- Keep doors and windows locked, including vehicles, even when at home.
- Store valuables out of plain sight.
- Install audible alarm systems.
- Use home video surveillance cameras for both the front and rear of residences.
- Notify trusted neighbours when away and arrange for someone to check on your property.
- Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police.
