By CityNews Kitchener Staff

It was a busy Friday afternoon on roads with multiple closures reported due to crashes.

One of the road closures impacted Fountain Street South in Cambridge after a transport truck hit a hydro pole.

Police said there were no injuries in the single-vehicle collision.

Crews with GrandBridge Energy responded to the scene for extensive clean-up and repairs.

Fountain Street South was closed between Shantz Hill Road and King Street West with no reopening time known, leading to heavy delays in the area.

In Wellesley Township, Hutchison Road was closed to traffic between Streicher Line and Lobsinger Line.

Police said a truck tipped over into the ditch. The driver was not hurt.

Officers cleared the scene but barricades stayed in place, and the closure was expected to persist into the evening hours.

Police also responded to a collision involving a cyclist in Waterloo in the Wyman Road and Colby Drive area.

The cyclist was tranported to an out-of-region hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Police asked the public to expect delays in the area as their investigation continued.
