A residential fire in Woolwich Township remains under investigation.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. on May 23 on Sawmill Road.

The street was closed between Maple Bend Road and Snyders Flat Road because of the situation but it reopened around 3 p.m.

Woolwich’s Fire Chief Dennis Aldous said one resident was inside the home at the time but they got out unharmed, along with their animals.

It’s not clear what started the fire as the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
