Good news for kitten ‘Hopscotch’ after emergency leg surgery

Hopscotch the orange tabby is recovering at The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Peth (HSKWSP), following emergency surgery on Tuesday.

The five-month-old kitten was found in the Shakespeare area suffering from a severely broken hind leg. A check-up from HSKWSP vets revealed that if there were to be a chance of saving her leg, the surgeons would need to use surgical implants. HSKWSP is hoping to raise $5,000.

An update from HSKWSP said the surgery was a success and the leg was saved.

HSKWSP is asking for donations to help cover the cost of the surgery but, HSKWSP, CEO, Victoria Baby told 570 NewsRadio, the costs don’t end with the surgery.

“Before Hopscotch’s release, she’ll require a spay surgery. This will provide all her medications, all her vaccinations and she will be recovering with us for the next six to eight weeks.”

Baby points out that any money raised above and beyond the costs associated with Hopscotch will be used to help other animals in HSKWSP care.

Cash donations to the HSKWSP can be made online.
