Regional police seize weapons, drugs in Kitchener traffic stop

A Waterloo regional police traffic stop in the Bridgeport neighbourhood led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.

On Wednesday at around 8:30 a.m., officers were notified of some suspicious activity happening in the area of Norbert Place and Nelson Avenue.

As officers arrived, two men matching the descriptions from callers were leaving in a vehicle.

Police pulled them over, and found multiple forms of narcotics, including an array of illicit pills and suspected fentanyl.

They also found a firearm along with ammo and two other prohibited weapons.

Two Kitchener men, aged 27 and 34, were arrested, charged, and held for a bail hearing.
