More details have been released after a shed fire broke out in Wilmot on Thursday.

The emergency call came in around 11:37 a.m. on Bleams Road and initially, police reported it as a barn fire between Queen Street and Sandhills Road

Wilmot’s fire chief, Rod Leeson, later confirmed the fire impacted a large driving shed, which is a total loss. No damage estimate was immediately available.

No physical injuries were reported and no animals were harmed. Leeson said, “Firefighters kept the adjacent barn housing animals safe from the fire.”

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, Leeson said the fire is not deemed suspicious in nature.
