Kitchener Rangers maintain dominance over Guelph in Highway 7 rivalry

The Kitchener Rangers continued their dominance in their Highway 7 rivalry against the Guelph Storm on Tuesday night with a convincing 6-1 win.

The Storm opened the scoring through winger Charlie Paquette in the opening frame, but in the second period, the floodgates opened for the Blueshirts.

The Rangers scored six unanswered goals, including a pair from forward Jack Pridham and one from centreman Luke Ellinas who returned to the lineup following an injury.

“Pridham electrified this crowd with that Michigan goal,” said 570’s Colour Commentator Paul Fixter following the game.

For his second goal of the night, Pridham scored a highlight-reel goal, lifting the puck onto his stick while behind the Storm net, scooping it up and burying it into the top corner.

The Rangers have defeated the Storm in all six of the meetings so far this season.

The East Avenue Blue are now five points behind the London Knights for first place in the OHL.

On Friday, the Rangers will play host to the Sarnia Sting at The Aud before making a trip to Owen Sound to take on the Attack on Saturday.
