Suspect sought after several vehicle theft incidents across Waterloo Region

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) are now looking to identify a person of interest, as well as a suspect vehicle, following a string of thefts and attempted robbery incidents across the region.
It’s alleged those seven incidents all happened between Jan. 22 and Jan. 26 of this year, mainly in the south end of Cambridge and the north end of Waterloo including the areas of:
- Langlaw Drive in Cambridge
- Swift Crescent in Cambridge
- Ferncliffe Street in Cambridge
- Schooner Crescent in Waterloo
- Atlantic Boulevard in Waterloo
- Chestnut Ridge in Waterloo
- Angler Way in Waterloo
It’s unclear how many situations where the suspect was successful in stealing a vehicle, but police have said one of those vehicles, a Toyota Tundra pickup, was recovered by another police service in Peel Region.
Reported incidents have involved a suspect vehicle described as a 2022 or “newer” black GMC Sierra pickup, with a double or crew cab, silver alloy wheels and a chrome grill.

Police are looking for a man in his 20s, with a black short beard and short black hair. That man has previously been spotted in a green army parka with black Nike pants and black shoes.
