Man arrested after sharing intimate pics of Guelph woman more than eight years ago

Eight and a half years after he allegedly posted intimate images of a Guelph woman, the suspect has finally been arrested.

Guelph Police say it all began in September 2016 when the victim reported intimate images of her had been posted online without her consent.

She told police she sent the images to an online boyfriend, whom she had never met in person.

She only found out her pictures had been shared when other men began contacting her. The victim at the time chose not to proceed with charges, but in early 2018 it happened again and she came back to police.

Detectives could not find the boyfriend, so they put out an arrest warrant.

Police say the 29-year-old from Brampton was arrested Monday after he flew into Pearson International Airport.

He was charged with publishing intimate images without consent.
