The Region of Waterloo International Airport keeps breaking records as 2024 marked another milestone for passenger traffic.
The Breslau airport recorded 523,210 passengers last year.
The number is 17.49 per cent higher than 2023’s total and represents a 554 per cent increase from 2019.
August alone was unprecedented with 82,531 passengers arriving and departing throughout the month, which is more than what the airport saw annually in 2018, 2019, or 2020.
“Record passenger numbers in 2024 were made possible by strong partnerships and continuous improvement in airport operations and services,” said Regional Chair Karen Redman in a release. “We’re excited to build on this momentum with new opportunities that will further enhance the airport’s role as a vital hub for travel, business, and growth in 2025 and beyond.”
The ROW Airport also celebrated record-breaking numbers in 2023, which included its busiest day ever in July.
Officials are touting the landmark as one of the fastest-growing and busiest airports in Canada. It’s attributing the growth to the airport’s recent expansion and strong business partnerships.
