Federal offender arrested in Kitchener

A man wanted for armed robbery, known as a federal offender, and at large for over a month, has been arrested in Kitchener.

Toronto Police arrested John Francis Curtin this week.

The federal offender was on the lam since November 14, 2024.

Curtin is serving an 18-year, one month, and 20 day sentence for numerous charges.

They include:

  • Armed Robbery x2
  • Possess Weapon or Imitation
  • Break and Enter x4
  • Theft Over x4
  • Theft Under x2
  • Used Forged Document
  • Forgery
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Impaired Driving

The arrest was announced by the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad.
