One person sent to hospital after crash involving ION train

One person was sent to hospital after a crash involving a vehicle and an ION train.

The collision occurred Monday around 10 a.m. in the Borden Avenue South and Courtland Avenue East area of Kitchener.

According to police, one person was transported to a local hospital for assessment. It’s not clear if they were in the vehicle or a passenger on the LRT.

The collision led to a temporary ION disruption and replacement shuttle buses were rolled out in the interim.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
