Freezing rain warning in effect for Waterloo Region

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Waterloo Region.
The warning was issued at 8:25 a.m. and calls for patchy freezing rain or drizzle mixed with snow to begin in the morning going into the afternoon. The freezing drizzle is expected to turn into drizzle tonight as temperatures climb above the freezing mark.
Road conditions may be affected by the conditions, as well as sidewalks, walkways and parking lots.
A special weather statement was in effect calling for freezing drizzle and patchy rain for the afternoon. That statement was retracted when the freezing rain warning was issued.
