Waterloo high school forced to close due to lack of heat

Waterloo Collegiate Institute has been forced to close on Friday due to a lack of heat in the building.

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) announced the closure just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to the school, facility services employees and contractors are working to address the situation.

In the meantime, all classes, extracurricular activities and rentals are cancelled for the entire day on Friday.

Students are asked to work from home for the day while the situation is resolved.
