Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for strong winds Halloween night.

The weather authority said gusty winds near 70 km/h were expected late Thursday afternoon, through the evening and possibly into the overnight hours.

Wind gusts are expected to diminish by Friday morning.

The weather statement has since ended.
