Driver flees on foot after crashing into Kitchener home

A driver involved in a crash that saw a vehicle reportedly smash into a Kitchener home on Thursday morning is still on the loose.

Around 3 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the collision in the Simeon Street and Weber Street East area.

Neighbours tell 570 NewsRadio a car crashed into a home, and was removed from the area around 7 a.m.

The driver is reportedly fleeing on foot. As of 8 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police were still searching for the driver, who was last seen running through nearby St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Officers say they are looking to check on the driver’s well-being.

Although there were people home at the time of the crash, police say no one was hurt.
