WRDSB hosts boundary review open house for new south Kitchener school

A much needed elementary school is on the horizon for south Kitchener; but before the facility can open its doors it will need students.

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is conducting a boundary review to establish an attendance area boundary for the new school being built at 670 Thomas Slee Dr.

The review process will involve the neighbourhoods feeding:

  • Brigadoon Public School
  • Doon Public School
  • Groh Public School
  • JW Gerth Public School
  • Pioneer Park Public School

The WRDSB said no changes will occur before June 2025.

The board is hosting a public information session Oct. 24 to gather public input about the potential changes and to review the several options on the table.

It runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at JW Gerth Public School, 171 Apple Ridge Dr. in Kitchener.

It’s a drop-in, open house style format.

Anyone that needs special assistance to participate, is encouraged to reach out to the board: 519-570-0003 ext. 4419 or email planning@wrdsb.ca.
