Suspects at large after double assault in Cambridge involving stabbing, noxious substance

One victim stabbed and another was hit with a noxious substance while police need to find who’s responsible for a double assault in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened just before 1:00, Sunday afternoon, with two groups of people meeting around Eagle Street North and Laurel Street.

Some sort of dispute broke out, and a 41-year-old man from Cambridge was stabbed.

Officials say a 36-year-old woman had a noxious substance thrown on her.

Both of those people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and were taken to a local hospital.

Police say they know who on of the suspects is, and have issued a warrant for his arrest, but have not released his name publicly.

Investigators are still looking for a second suspect, described as a White male, in his early 20s, medium build and brown hair.

At the time he was wearing a black shirt, pants, and shoes.

Witnesses can call police at 519-570-9777, extension 6370, or reach out anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or by clicking here.
