Charges are expected for a crash and road closure in Wilmot

Charges are likely to be laid for a collision at a Wilmot Township intersection during the height of the afternoon rush.

Waterloo Regional Police say it was a two-vehicle collision at Bridge Street and Sandhills Road, west of New Dundee, at around 3:00 p.m. Monday.

Officials announced a closure of that intersection on social media around 6:00 p.m. and then announced it was back open around 7:20 p.m.

Police confirm to 570 NewsRadio one of the drivers was sent to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are still looking into exactly how it all happened, but police say charges are pending.

For now, they’d like to hear from any and all witnesses.
