Multiple collisions, debris snarls 401 through Waterloo Region Tuesday morning

It was a headache of a drive for commuters making their way through Kitchener and Cambridge on Highway 401 Tuesday morning.
A reported transport truck spill on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 resulted in multiple lanes blocked just east of Fountain Street South.
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) reported the incident was cleared just before 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
On the other side of the median, a similarly slow drive, with reports of a crash approaching Homer Watson Boulevard spreading debris across multiple lanes.
Providing an update on Tuesday morning just after 10 a.m., that westbound collision was cleared.
