As the region approaches colder temperatures, donations are being collected to assist those experiencing homelessness in our community.
Some of the items that are most desperately needed include warmer clothing and heaters.
Other items include: tents, insulation materials (heavy duty blankets, moving blankets, vapor barriers), reflective emergency blankets, big tarps, heat sources (candles, hand warmers, heaters), thermal clothing, winter coats, boots, Long Johns, socks, gift cards for food and camping equipment stores and drinks.
Local service providers are trying to protect nearly 300 individuals from winter elements in Waterloo Region.
Any donated items could help save someone experiencing homelessness in the region.
Donations can be delivered to The AIDS Committee Of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo & Area’s Kitchener office, located at 1770 King Street East, Unit 5. They are open Monday to Friday each week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Anyone needing help picking up supplies can email unshelteredcampaign@gmail.com.
