The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in after a fatal fire in Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police said the blaze left one woman dead, and two other victims injured.

Emergency crews responded around midnight on Monday to the area of Graham Street and Waterloo Street in Waterloo. Crews were joined by staff from Enova Power Corporation to also assist in response to the fire.

Police say the home was fully engulfed in flames, with two neighbouring homes sustaining “significant damage.”

Three occupants were transported to hospital, including a 54-year-old woman that was later pronounced deceased.

A 58-year-old and 30-year-old man each suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire, though the origin and cause are being investigated by the Ontario Fire Marshal with support from City of Waterloo Fire Rescue Staff.
