The Waterloo Catholic District School Board held its first meeting with its newly elected trustees on Monday night.
Part of the meeting included an update on the board's progress in implementing 14 recommendations that were provided after provincial review earlier this year.
The review was called for after police were called to John Sweeney Catholic Elementary School in Kitchener last November to remove a four-year-old Black student.
In the update, the board writes that “The report highlighted the need for a variety of approaches to serve our families. We need to ensure that we have culturally responsive, early intervention supports and services.”
The entire update on the recommendations provided can be found on page 63 of the meeting bulletin.
