Another municipality in the region is reporting advance poll numbers.
More than 430 votes were cast in Wellesley Township via internet and phone. That works out to a turnout of 5.18 per cent. Turnout was 4.87 per cent during the advance voting period in 2018.
A news release from the township said votes are steadily being cast throughout all times of the day, adding the convenience and accessible features of electronic voting are proving to be of benefit to voters.
Voter turnout in the township was just under 32 per cent four years ago. Officials point out they are on pace to meet or exceed that turnout this time around.
The Election Help Centre located at the township administration office will be open during regular business hours until the close of voting at 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 24.
Extended help centre hours are:
Thursday, October 20 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Monday, October 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Woolwich Township also recently reported 7.1 per cent of eligible voters have already cast ballots. It's a slight increase over the 6 per cent who voted in advance of the election four years ago.
In Kitchener, over 5,000 votes were cast early, while in Waterloo nearly 4,000 residents took advantage of advance polls.
