Elmira Maple Syrup Festival to forego in-person component for 2022

Another year, another virtual edition of the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival.
Officials with the festival said the in-person component will not go ahead for the third straight year.
Jessica Bauer, the co-chairperson for the festival, said in a Facebook post it is due to “the precarious state of the pandemic.”
“This was a difficult decision to make, but one that maintains the health and safety of vendors, volunteers, visitors, and community members.”
The festival was tentatively scheduled for April 2.
Officials will gather over the coming weeks to discuss alternative methods of delivering on the festival's core values, and will release more details online at a later date.
