Regional police continue to investigate after a shooting incident in Kitchener.
According to the service, officers responded to the area of Huber Street at around 9:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire, where they located A 17-year-old Kitchener teen with a gunshot wound.
That victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Shortly after, police say they were alerted when another male, a 16-year-old from Kitchener, attended a local hospital with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, police confirmed those injuries, and the teenager was treated and subsequently released from hospital.
Police warned yesterday of a heavy police presence in that area throughout the evening, as they asked members of the public to avoid the area.
Regional police have since confirmed that officers will be in the area of Huber Street on Sunday conducting canvassing throughout the area. They add that it's believed the shooting was a targeted incident.
