Severe thunderstorms hit Waterloo Region, multiple power outages reported (update)

It was certainly a weather roller-coaster in Waterloo Region on Tuesday afternoon.
As of 5 p.m., four separate alerts were in effect.
It included a severe thunderstorm warning, a severe thunderstorm watch, a rainfall warning, and a special weather statement for heat and humidity.
The severe thunderstorm warning was lifted around 6 p.m., the rainfall warning ended shortly before 8:30 p.m., and the severe thunderstorm watch ended after 10:30 p.m.
A special weather statement remained in effect, although the hot and humid conditions are set to ease sometime Wednesday.
The stormy weather led to multiple outages in Waterloo Region. In Kitchener, nearly 15,000 customers were affected as of 5:30 p.m., and later on there were upwards of 20,000 customers impacted.
There were also numerous reports of downed trees and other storm damage, and The City of Kitchener cancelled the Countdown to Canada Day event at Bingemans.
